AT & T CHAMPIONS CLASSIC

MAKES $90,000 DONATION TO

HENRY MAYO HEALTH FOUNDATION

Valencia, CA (October 31, 2007) - A $90,000 check from funds raised during the AT&T Champions Classic was presented to the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Health Foundation today.

Dave Nichols, senior vice president of external affairs, AT&T California, personally delivered the donation to Henry Mayo executives Roger Seaver, CEO, C.R. Bob Hudson, CFO, and Diana Vose, President of the Health Foundation, at the hospital’s campus.

"We believe that for a community to reach its goals, a very important facet of that is providing health care for its citizens. We are proud to host this prestigious event in the Santa Clarita Valley and to partner with the hospital in support of its mission to provide quality healthcare services to valley residents," Nichols said.

This is the third year Henry Mayo has been the primary beneficiary of proceeds generated by the popular golf event. Funds previously raised by the AT&T Champions Classic have helped finance and support the hospital’s “Next Generation of Care” campaign, including an upcoming cardiac catheterization laboratory and an emergency department expansion completed in 2006.

"Henry Mayo’s emergency room fits with AT&T‘s focus to provide and connect people with the services that they need," Nichols said.

As Seaver noted, Henry Mayo was looking forward to an ongoing relationship with the AT&T Champions Classic, which returns to the Valencia Country Club on March 10, 2008.

 “I think it’s great. AT&T puts on a fantastic event for the community and the money comes back to the community for positive purposes. We put AT&T’s donations to good use,” Seaver said.

The AT&T Champions Classic, held at Valencia Country Club in March, 2007, was won by Tom Purtzer in a four-hole playoff over Loren Roberts. 

“Our event is a premier stop along the Champions Tour and features some pretty dramatic finishes,” Nichols said. “This is a great location and the City of Santa Clarita does an incredible job of helping us put on the tournament.”

According to Nichols, the 2008 AT&T Champions Classic will once again name the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Health Foundation as its primary fundraising beneficiary.
