TEAM QUIGLEY WINS THURSDAY PRO-AM;

2008 AT&T CHAMPIONS CLASSIC WILL RETURN

TO VALENCIA COUNTRY CLUB

Santa Clarita, CA (March 15, 2007) – Combining for a 20-under score, Team Quigley won the second day of the AT&T Champions Classic Pro-Am topping the runner-up team by one stroke.

Headed by Champions Tour professional Dana Quigley and his four amateur partners, Louis Chen, Dan Takasugi, Bryan Martin and Tony Madrid, the team recorded a net score of 52 in taking top honors.

The team of John Heys, Doug Schiermeyer, Bill Tilley, Brian Meyer and Champions Tour professional Jack Renner made a late bid as one of the last groups on the course but came up one stroke short at 19-under par.

The third place award went to Team Floyd in a card-off.    The team of professional Raymond Floyd, Tim Harden, Randy Williams, Bill Huber and Joe Flores carded a 54 to finish at 18-under par.

Thursday’s Pro-Am was the final tune-up for the professionals heading into Friday’s Opening Round of the AT&T Champions Classic.

In other Thursday news, Champions Charities, which operates and manages the AT&T Champions Classic on behalf of AT&T, exercised its option on a contract to return the Champions Tour event to Valencia Country Club in 2008.  The announcement on the host course for the event aligns with an announcement from earlier this year regarding AT&T’s commitment to sponsor the event in 2008.

In addition, Jay Haas, coming off a win in last week’s Toshiba Classic said he’s ready for this weekend’s event.

“I’m looking forward to this week,” said Haas, the reigning Champions Tour Player of the Year.  “I feel like I’m playing well.  This is a tough golf course that requires pinpoint iron shots.  The course is in magnificent condition. The greens are soft now but can firm up pretty quickly.  The fairways are just perfect.  You don’t get a bad lie here.”

Haas has been on fire heading into this week’s event.  In addition to his win, he has recorded two second-place finishes and a fifth-place showing to lead the Charles Schwab Cup points battle.  This will be his second appearance at Valencia Country Club, earning a tie for 17th last year.

Tickets are for sale at the tournament main gate entrance for $15 daily through Sunday.
